ɬ Student Government Leaders Elected

Hank Rader, a junior majoring in accounting, has been elected as president of the University of South Alabama Student Government Association for 2024-25.

Elections were held April 3. Other officers elected are Vice President K.C. Crusoe, Treasurer Bryce Carver, Chief Justice Andrew Parton, Attorney General Brock Renicks and Student-at-Large Sydnee Cantley.  

“I’m very excited to see what we can accomplish during our term,” Rader said. “I hope to be able to build a great relationship with departments on campus like parking and athletics. I’m also very excited to continue the work to improve accessibility on campus.”

2024-25 SGA Leaders:

  • Rader, 20, is a native of Wiggins, Mississippi, and is a graduate of Stone High School. He is active in many organizations on campus including the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, ɬ Dance Marathon and Student Government Association. He is the son of Joann Rader.
  • Crusoe, 20, is sophomore majoring in political science. He is from Wetumpka, Alabama, and is a graduate of Park Crossing High School. Crusoe is active in organizations including the Collegiate 100, Pre-Law Society, Blue Key Honor Society and Political Science Club. His parents are Kistrall Crusoe and Katrina Atkins.
  • Carver, 20, is a junior majoring in accounting. He is a native of Long Beach, Mississippi, and is a graduate of Long Beach High School. He is the previous comptroller of the 2023-2024 Student Government Association and is the son of Bruce and Denise Carver.
  • Parton, 20, is a sophomore majoring in biology. He is from Helena, Alabama, and is a graduate of Helena High School. He has served the Student Government Association previously as a College of Arts and Sciences senator, Campus Safety and Improvement Committee chairperson and Legal Affairs Committee co-chairperson. He is in ɬ’s Honors College and is the son of Christopher and Nancy Parton. 
  • Renicks, 20, is majoring in psychology and minoring in Spanish and chemistry. Renicks is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and is a graduate of American Christian Academy. He is the son of Matthew and Melei Renicks.
  • Cantley, 19, is a freshman majoring in nursing. She is from Fairhope, Alabama, and is a graduate of Fairhope High School. She is involved in organizations including First Year Council, Indian Student Association and Chi Omega and is a feature twirler in the Jaguar Marching Band. She is Miss Tuscaloosa 2024 and Miss Gulf Coast 2023. Cantley founded the non-profit Adolescent Wellness Checkups and authored a children’s book, “Bee Healthy.” She is the daughter of Dennis and Betty Gogel.
