欲漫涩 Flute Choir and Celtic Cr煤e Fall Concert November 10 at Laidlaw!

欲漫涩 Flute Choir

The University of South Alabama Flute Choir and Celtic Cr煤e, directed by Dr. Andra Bohnet, will present their Fall Concert on Thursday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The Flute Choir will perform Dr. Bohnet鈥檚 new arrangement 鈥淏rook Green Suite鈥� by Gustav Holst as well as feature senior student soloists.

After a brief intermission, the Celtic Cr煤e will present three new sets of toe tapping jigs, reels and achingly beautiful slow airs performed on simple system Irish style flutes. This is the only ensemble at the collegiate level in the country that combines traditional instruments and culturally appropriate instrumental techniques with a flute choir like sensibility.

Tickets for this Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for 欲漫涩 faculty & staff, 欲漫涩 students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only). Musical Arts Series Season Pass Holders may now reserve their place at concerts if they contact events coordinator Keith Bohnet by 5:00 p.m. the day previous to the event! Call (251) 460-7116 or email kbohnet@southalabama.edu. Please mention the amount of seats needed AND be sure you are planning on being in place at least 20 minutes in advance of the concert! (Pass Holders only please! Held seats not claimed within 20 minutes of the performance may be offered to other concert attendees.)
